Foreign delegations visited E Kazakhstan cancer centers

UST KAMENOGORSK. KAZINFORM Three foreign delegations visited at once the cancer centres of Semey, the regional cancer detection center press service said.

The regional cancer centre has established cooperation with international organizations. It realized a number of projects over the recent years to improve people's health and quality of medical assistance.

Cooperation of the region with the IAEA is of great importance. As of today, the parties realized two joint projects on commissioning a tertiary radiation centre. Besides as part of cooperation programme, 27 experts of the cancer centre underwent training in the leading cancer detection centres around the world.

The IAEA experts visited Semey during July 14-18 to consult to implementation of the Nuclear Medicine Centre. Its opening is set for September-October this year. It is the only centre of Kazakhstan equipped with the up-to-minute devices and technologies for both diagnostics and treatment of patents.

Surgeons from South Korea arrived in the region to perform joint surgeries and give master classes for local specialists.
