Foreign debt of Kazakhstan's banking sector is $16 bln

ASTANA. February 20. KAZINFORM. Foreign debt of Kazakhstan's banking sector decreased to USD 16 billion, said Chairman of Kazakhstan National Bank Grigory Marchenko in his interview to "KTK" TV Channel.
According to G. Marchenko, external assets of the banking sector amount to USD 21 billion, i.e. more than liabilities. "Thus, the current situation with Kazakhstan's foreign debt poses no problem as against the crisis period when foreign debt was USD 46 billion," he said.
