Foreign Affairs Minister meets with Director General of Int'l Atomic Energy Agency

ASTANA. August 22. KAZINFORM - Erlan Idrissov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has met with Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), who arrived in Astana with a working visit, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The two sides discussed a wide range of the issues of mutual interest. During the talks, Yukiya Amano praised the level of bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan and emphasized the role of our country as one of the leaders and the responsible participant in the nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation process", the statement read.
"In turn, Idrissov noted the leading role of IAEA in matters of peaceful use of nuclear energy and strengthening nuclear safety regime", the Ministry for Foreing Affairs informs.
