For Afghanistan rebuild projects Kazakhstan delivered goods worth $78 mln

Almaty held a business forum on dicussion of further cooperation of domestic enterprises with the projects' operators for reconstruction and development of Afghanistan. The event was organized by the Agency for Logistics of Defense Ministry of the United States with the support of the National Agency for Export and Investment «Kaznex Invest» of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The forum participants summed up the interim results of the joint work.

Since 2010 under the decision of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies «Kaznex Invest» has been the sole operator on cooperation with the US side on purchasing Kazakh goods for the needs of projects in Afghanistan.

With the assistance of «Kaznex Invest» in the period from 2010 to the first half of 2013 the US purchased Kazakhstani goods worth USD 78 million. The suppliers included 15 domestic manufacturers producing plywood, cable, coiled steel, cement, rebar, lumber, transformers, rock salt, drinking water, chemical disinfectants, hygiene, etc..
