For a Nuclear Weapons Free World int'l conference kicked off in Astana

TANA. October 12. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ An international conference themed "For a Nuclear Weapons Free World" with the participation of Kazakh Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev has just started its work at the Palace of Independence in Astana.
The conference is a part of the International Forum for a Nuclear Weapons Free World which will continue its work tomorrow in East Kazakhstan.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, IAEA director general Yukiya Amano, US Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman, Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization Tibor Tóth, US Congressman Eni Faleomavaega are expected to take the floor.
The conference brings together reps of the IAEA, SCO, UN and foreign countries such as the US, Japan, France, Norway, China, Russia, Germany, Romania, India and Slovakia.
