Food Corporation to purchase grain at USD 165 per ton

ASTANA. August 25. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ First Vice Chairman of Food Contract Corporation National Company Alexander Solyulev has informed of the plan on grain procurement today at the press-conference in Astana.
According to him the company plans to purchase about 3 mln tons of grain this year. 562 thousand tons of grain have been already purchased at the expense of the National Fund amounted to KZT 13.8 bln.
The rate of procurement prices at the internal market is significantly lower this year against the last one. At present the weighted average price for grain amounted to USD 170 per one ton. Whereas the weighted average price for grain amounted to USD 165 per one ton in Kazakhstan.
Taking into account all these factors it was decided to fix the price for grain purchased for the state at the rate of KZT24 750 per one ton.
