CONAKRY. December 9. KAZINFORM - Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov has arrived in the Republic of Guinea to attend the 40th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov is conducting a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the OIC member- and observer-states in Conakry hotel "Palm Kamaenn".
The 40th session will be held on December 9-10.
It is interesting that in Conakry on December 9, 1995, by the decision of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC (to be renamed in the OIC), Kazakhstan became a member of the organization.
It is also worth noting that later on June 28, 2011, at the 38th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers held in Astana, under the initiative of Kazakhstan the Organization of Islamic Conference was renamed the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
