Five non-permanent nations join U. N. Security Council

NEW YORK. October 19. KAZINFORM Rwanda, Argentina, Australia, South Korea and Luxembourg have joined the U.N. Security Council as non-permanent members for two years starting in January, AGI said.

They will substitute South Africa, Germany, Colombia, India and Portugal. The Security Council, which has 15 members, replaces its non-permanent members every five years. At the end of 2013 Azerbaijan, Guatemala, Morocco, Pakistan and Togo will leave.
The permanent members are the U.S, China, France, Russia and Great Britain.
