All five wrestlers were upset in reaching the semi-final round on October 22.

Yerbol Kamaliyev (55kg) defeated Maksim Stupakevich of Belarus with a score of 4-3 in the ⅛ finals. However, the Kazakh wrestler lost to Vishvajit Ramchandra More of India with a score of 0-9 in the quarterfinals.

Nursultan Bazarbayev (63kg) was also eliminated at an early stage. Arman Vardanyan of Armenia beat the Kazakh athlete with a score of 10-0 in the ⅛ finals.

Temirlan Karatay (77 kg) lost the qualifying bout to Ismail Barakhoev of Russia with a score of 6-7.

Baglan Kuanysh (87 kg) was defeated by Marcel Sterkenburg of Netherlands with a score of 5-3 in the ⅛ finals.

Assylbek Abdikalyk (130kg) secured one victory. He defeated Fekry Eissa of Egypt. However, the Kazakhstani athlete suffered a loss against Nikolaos Ntounias from Greece, with the bout concluding prematurely.

It is therefore unlikely that the Kazakh team will be able to secure the gold medal, given that they also failed to qualify for the final in the five weight categories earlier in the competition. Nevertheless, the wrestlers who were unsuccessful today still have the opportunity to secure the bronze medal. In order to achieve this, it is essential that the athletes in question progress to the final and subsequently demonstrate their capabilities in the consolation round, thereby securing third place.
