First Vice-Premier Sagyntayev holds session on Aktobe agglomeration

ASTANA. August 6. KAZINFORM Today there has taken place a working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev to Aktobe region, the press service of the Ministry of Regional Development says.

In the morning the first vice-premier visited Alga district, where he inspected the cattle complex of "Aktep" Limited and a driving school called "Aiym A", funded by "Business Road Map-2020" program. Then Sagintayev acquainted with the accomplishment of a small city Alga. In particular, he toured the repaired parts of streets and areas of the heating line.

In the second half of the day in the city of Aktobe Bakytzhan Sagintayev inspected manufacturing facilities of "Kazhrom "JSCm which since 2009 has been implementing the investment project - construction of a new ferroalloy plant (plant number 4) included in the Industrialization Map of Kazakhstan. The project provides for introduction of innovative technologies of high-carbon ferrochrome, that is unparalleled in the world, as well as the use of advanced electrical systems, automation and DC furnaces.

Then, the first vice-premier visited construction of Aktobe rail plant. With the commissioning of the plant the need for rail products of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC will be met, including those railways under construction Shalkar - Beineu, as well as the demand of the railway companies of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. In addition, in connection with the growth of commercial and residential construction in the country and neighboring states it will meet the needs of the industrial products.

Mr. Sagintayev inspected the construction of "Northern Bypass of Aktobe" road , which is part of the international transit corridor - Western Europe-Western China.

Following the visit Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting, which focused on the development of Aktobe agglomeration.

"It is extremely important that the processes of urbanization and agglomeration development are regulated by the state comprehensively and systematically" said B.Sagintayev. "That refers to defining "points of growth", market niche and economic positioning, creation of new jobs, formation of a common transport infrastructure of the core city and its suburban areas. It is necessary to ensure that the region has emerged as agglomeration of international level. "
