First Vice PM met with Afghanistan Minister of Ore mining and Oil

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The First Vice Premier of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev has held a meeting with the minister of ore mining and oil of Afghanistan Daud Shah Saba, Kazinform refers to the website of the Prime Minister.

The sides discussed the issues in the humanitarian and economic spheres.

During the meeting, Sagintayev stressed that Kazakhstan is friendly to the Government of Afghanistan headed by the President Mohammad Ashraf Gani and the head of the executive branch Abdulla Abdulla. He expressed a hope that new management of the country will be able to implement new reforms aimed at welfare of Afghans.

The participants of the meeting noted that trade turnover between the countries increased (in 2014, trade turnover between the two countries was 336,6 million dollars with the one third growth in comparison with 2013), however a full potential of trade-economic relations is not discovered.

One of the important mechanisms to expand bilateral relations is the Kazakh-Afghan intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation.

Regarding the humanitarian relations, the first Vice Premier noted that Kazakhstan continues to implement education program for Afghanistan's youth. From 2010 to 2020, over 1thousand afghan students will be educated at the Kazakhstan's HEI. The total sum of the program is 50 million US dollars.

During the meeting, Sagintayev highlighted that Kazakhstan actively supports international affairs aimed at stabilization of situation in Afghanistan.
