First transplantation of donor heart in Central Asia held successfully
"Organization of the first transplantation of donor heart in Central Asia was held at a good level. The operation was performed successfully," Jan Pirk said who served as a theoretical consultant on cardiac transplantation.
According to him, the first biopsy of the heart did not show any negative reactions, the patient feels good and already discharged from the hospital.
The Professor also emphasized that Prague's Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine would continue to cooperate with the National Cardiac Surgery Center in terms of diagnostics and treatment of patients with chronic cardiac insufficiency.
As earlier reported, the transplantation of donor heart to a patient with chronic cardiac insufficiency was successfully performed by leading cardiac surgeon of the country Yuri Pya with the participation of cardiac surgeon from Czech Republic Jan Pirk at the end of August this year. Currently, the patient has been discharged from the hospital and feels good.
