First lethal H1N1 case reported in Krasnoyarsk

KRASNOYARSK. October 29. KAZINFORM The first lethal case caused by H1N1 flu has been registered in the Krasnoyarsk region, regional Health Minister Vadim Yanin said at a session of local legislature, Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

The victim is a 39- year- old woman who had had earlier not asked for medical assistance, the minister said. He put the current H1N1 flu statistics in the Krasnoyarsk region at 399 cases. A total of 450 patients suspected of being infected with H1N1 virus have been hospitalized. Eight nidi of the infection have been established, the minister said.

By October 29, the overall death toll in Russia caused by the H1N1 flu rose to five cases - three in Chita, one in Moscow and one in the Krasnoyarsk region, Kazinform cites Itar-Tass. See www.itar-tass.com
