First KIA Carens become 24th model of «Asia Auto»

According to the press service of the company, today a delegation of KIA Motors Corp. headed by Ahn Dehen, has formally approved start of a new car model production on "Asia Auto" plant capacity.

KIA Carens, a new generation five-door compact van, was introduced at Paris Motor Show and replaced two models of the company - previous generation of Carens, which had been manufactured since 2006 and a larger KIA Carnival.

Stylish, sporty, spacious interior, from five to seven seats, roomy trunk and voluminous storage compartments make Carens one of the most attractive family cars.

"Global Compact minivens' sales in 2012 reached 1.9 million vehicles. We expect to sale 2.27 million in 2014 and 2.5 million - in 2015. I'm sure, Kazakhstanis will take it with special attention as only for the last six months the number of KIA cars buyers in the country has doubled", said A.Dehen.

According to Erik Sagymbaev, "Asia Auto" president, at the end of last year the company offered first minivan of the national assembly. Demand for it has surpassed all expectations. "Today we are pleased to present our customers with another vehicle designed to travel with a family. This is the twelfth model of KIA national assembly", said E.Sagymbaev.

All four grade versions of KIA Carens are equipped with 2-liter petrol unit with 150 hp. In the five-seat version the engine will be accompanied by manual transmission. A seven seats version will be offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The all-new design automatic transmission is characterized by a smooth shifting, improved efficiency and durability and a new steering system named Kia Flex Steer. It offers three variants of the steering wheel effort: Normal, Sport and Comfort.
