Fire safety campaign held by Istok Public Union volunteers

SEMEY. July 15. KAZINFORM /Lina Slavina/ The UN Development Program in Kazakhstan and German Federal Ministry for Environment and Nuclear Security (BMU) finance the project aimed at preservation and use of the biological diversity of Kazakhstan part of Altay-Sayan Ecoregion.

The project is also to extend the networks of East-Kazakhstan Oblast territories under protection.

 "Fires in forests and steppes become a reason for reducing of biological diversity and negative impact on climate changes as well", - Head of "Istok" Public Union Lyudmila Mikhailovna said.

 The volunteers of "Istok" carried out inquiries and surveys of the local population and events concerning fire safety measures in forest and steppe zones within the project implementation.
