Financial Police investigates theft of KZT 111.8 mln allocated for Atyrau urban ore disposal

ASTANA. September 13. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Agency for Fighting Economic and Corruption Crimes (Financial Police) investigates the criminal cases related to abuse of power by Atyrau Akimat officials in the privatization of communal property and its undervalued realization, as well as embezzlement of budget funds totaling over 6.3 billion, allocated for the construction of the gas pipeline in the Kyzylkuginsky region and "Atyrau-Dossor" group water supply system, the press service reported.
On September 7, the local court sanctioned arrest of B. Dzhaysanov, Head of Energy and Utilities Department of Atyrau Regional Akimat.
On September 12, former deputy governor of Atyrau region B. Daukenov and head of Finance Department of the region B. Dzhantemirov were detained. They are suspected of commiting the abovementioned crimes.
In addition, on September 13, a criminal investigation into embezzlement of budget funds totaling KZT 111.8 million allocated for the construction of the landfill for disposal of urban ore in Atyrau was initiated.
