Film and Cultural Festival to introduce Kazakhstan to Hollywood
Entitled "Kazakhstan: Montage of Cinemas - Film & Cultural Festival," the second film festival will take place from August 3-9 at the Directors Guild of America on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. This year's encore presentation will offer a week-long celebration of the achievements of Kazakh cinema, which is experiencing a renaissance of creativity and progress parallel to the economic growth of the young Central Asian nation, the News Bulletin of the Kazakh Embassy to the US reads.

- The Little Hunter
- We Will See Tomorrow
- The Tale of the Pink Bunny
- Deal
- The Dash
- In Search of Tengry
- Kelin
- To the Pole in 108 Hours
- The Promised Land
The film and cultural festival is fueled by the passion to share Kazakhstan's emerging arts contributions to America and bring the two nations closer together through the language of cinema, music and culture.
The festival also presents new opportunities for Kazakh film makers to create bridges of partnership and collaboration between Kazakh cinema industry and Hollywood. Cinema goers and visitors to the cultural festival will gain an in-depth knowledge of Kazakhstan, a vibrant and diverse nation in the heart of Eurasia.
The opening night reception will be co-hosted by world-renowned Hollywood actor, Armand Assante, who produced a documentary on Kazakhstan entitled, Dialogue from the Steppes, which will be screened for the attendees.
The event will also feature musical performances by Kazakh traditional music ensemble Inju Marjan and award-winning dombra soloist Yerzhan Isin. There will also be an exhibition of Kazakh jewelry.
The opening night reception and daily screenings are free of charge.
