Father chains kids for mischief

Police said they raided the accused's house in Idgah locality, following a tip-off from neighbours.

"We got a tip-off from neighbours that Sabu kept his two children in chains. Immediately, a sub inspector raided his house in Idgah locality and found the two boys in iron fetters from neck to toe. They have been rescued and their father, a rickshaw puller, has been arrested," said RP Sharma, station house officer of Muradnagar police station.

Sabu has been booked under the Child Protection Act, he added.

The police said the children later told them that their father often used to chain them in iron fetters as punishment. According to the police, Sabu is an alcoholic and even his wife Nafisa is scared to speak out against him for committing atrocities against their children.
