Fast-moving California wildfire forces hundreds of evacuations

ASTANA. October 5. KAZINFORM A fast-moving wildfire in the San Bernadino National Forest in Southern California is forcing hundreds of evacuations and has already destroyed at least three homes, according to U.S. Forest Service officials, Kazinform refers to Trend News.

More homes are threatened, officials said.

A mandatory evacuation order is in effect for the entire community of Wrightwood and parts of Lytle Creek in San Bernadino County, the U.S. Forest Service said Sunday afternoon.

Evacuation centers were open at Eisenhower High School in Rialto and at the fairgrounds in Victorville, for those evacuating animals.

High winds, with gusts up to 45 miles an hour, were making conditions even tougher for more than 1,000 firefighters battling the blaze. A high wind warning was in effect through Sunday night.

The wildfire was reported Saturday afternoon.
