Extremism in Kazakhstan is propagated from abroad - Prosecutor General's Office
It is known that propaganda of extremism is conducted through dissemination of various foreign information materials (brochures, issues, journals) in the territory of Kazakhstan.
In the first half of 2009 law-enforcement bodies of Kazakhstan withdrew 88 materials of extremist character. By the decision of Astana municipal court as of July 3, 2009, 207 information materials - books, brochures and leaflets - were recognized extremist ones, their importation and dissemination in the territory of Kazakhstan was prohibited. 157 information materials of Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami religious party, 22 materials propagating ideas of radical Wahhabism, 2 materials of religious political organization Association of Muslim Brethren were recognized extremist ones too.
