«EXPO 2017» Preparations Report presented at 154th BIE General Assembly

ASTANA. November 27. KAZINFORM - Kazakh delegation participates in the 154th session of the General Assembly of the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE) in Paris. The Kazakh side presented a report on the preparations for the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2017 in Astana, the press service of the Prime Minister reports.

Commissioner of the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2017 – Kazakh First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Rapil Zhoshybayev and Chairman of JSC "NC" Astana EXPO 2017" Talgat Yermegiyayev informed the representatives of the BIE about the main significant events of EXPO 2017 project. Among them are the international architectural competition for the best design idea for an exhibition complex, development of the bill on EXPO, development and approval of the Registration Dossier, selection of the new logo of the exhibition.

Yermegiyayev explained that the theme of EXPO 2017 "Future Energy" will be reflected in the four thematic pavilions: "World of Energy", "Energy for Life", "Energy for All" and "My Future Energy".

He also introduced the concept of using EXPO facilities after the exhibition. "Thanks to the components such as the Park of Science and Technology, Arts and Cultural Center, residential buildings and hotels, shops, sports and recreational facilities, a new dynamic part of the city will become the center of future energy in Kazakhstan," Yermegiyayev noted.

According to BIE Secretary General Vicente Loscertales, "over the past year since winning the right to host EXPO 2017 Kazakhstan has done a great positive work."

"Kazakhstan is moving in the right direction. With regard to the Registration Dossier, I think next year it will get approval and Kazakhstan will continue its work as an accredited participant of EXPO 2017," he said.
