EXPO-2017: One of largest «green» projects to be implemented in Akmola region

ASTANA. June 20. KAZINFORM - The construction of "Samal" wind farm in Ereymentau district of Akmola region will be one of the largest foreign investment projects in Kazakhstan carried out under EXPO-2017, the press service of the Akim of the region reports.
"Chevron"company has been making assessment of potential sites in Kazakhstan for construction of a wind farm. As a result, there has been selected an area not far from the regional center. Experts are conducting preliminary research and the first phase of environmental impact analysis.
"Through the implementation of the project Chevron plans to support Kazakhstan's efforts to achieve goals such as economic diversification, development of high-tech industries, advancing of renewable and environmentally clean electric power, further realization of the program of forced industrial-innovative development, attracting new foreign investments, and job creation", the press-service states.
Wind farm's planned capacity is to be about 30 MW.
