Experts to discuss EurAsEC’s single transport space in Almaty on 3-5 August

MINSK. August 3. KAZINFORM The formation of a single transport space of the Eurasian Economic Community will be discussed at a meeting of experts and the 18th session of the Transport Policy Council under the EurAsEC Integration Committee in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on 3-5 August.

The press service of the Belarusian Transport and Communication Ministry told BelTA, the ministry will be represented by Sergei Negrei, Head of the Foreign Trade and Transport Logistics Office.

The session of the council is supposed to consider matters meant to further promote mutual relations, enhance cooperation and interaction between EurAsEC member-states in the sphere of transport.

On the agenda will be the progress in taking measures to set up the EurAsEC single economic space and the efforts undertaken to remove physical barriers in international automobile transportation. The session will consider common requirements for total weight restrictions, overall dimensions and axle load for trucks used in international cargo transportation in the EurAsEC member-states.

Attention will be paid to taking measures to form railway tariffs, to investment projects designed to enhance transport infrastructure and other organizational and practical matters, Belta reports.
