Expert: Kazakhstan can contribute to solution of ecological problems as OSCE Chair

KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ "As the OSCE Chair Kazakhstan can contribute a lot to resolution of ecological problems as well", Director of the European Informational Center under the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Kuralai Baizakova has said today at the conference "OSCE: Regional Security Challenges" in Almaty.

"It is not a secret that there exist a lot of ecological problems in Central Asian region and it is necessary to address them", she noted.

Besides, K.Baizakova noted that Kazakhstan will pay special attention to all three dimensions of the OSCE get equal development. She noted that Kazakhstan will offer three sets of proposals on all three dimensions. They concern issues of security, economy spheres and ecology.

"We have special geographical location allowing us to be a bridge between East and West. we can use it and become a transit state that will benefit our transport infrastructure and our trade relations", the expert said.

Besides, according to her, it is necessary to change accents in the humanitarian sphere. "Without derogating the people rights issues Kazakhstan is able to contribute to resolution of issues of tolerance. Our great experience in interconfessional and interethnic accord is unique and we can bring this experience to the OSCE", K.Baizakova said.
