European Union of Blind discusses problems of sigh-impaired people in Astana

ASTANA. September 4. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ - The Committee on rehabilitation, vocational education and employment of the European Union of the Blind has kicked off a sitting in the Rixos hotel.

The participants of the meeting chaired by Ulrika Norelius from Sweden plan to discuss a range of issues, particularly economic inactivity of the blind or partially sighted people in Sweden, Germany and Romania. Also it is planned to discuss the activities to be held in different countries this year by the European Union of the Blind.

President of the Kazakh Society of the Blind Baibolat Aubakirov said that studying the experience of Western Europe where vocational education and employment of sight-impaired people receive proper attention will be useful for Kazakhstan. The sitting will be over tomorrow. Upon the results of the discussion the Committee will pass a resolution.
The Kazakh Society of the Blind has been member of the European Union of the Blind since 1993.
