European physicians to elaborate anti-pandemic action plan

SAINT-PETERSBURG. July 28. KAZINFORM /Yelena Myagkova/ - The medical associations of Europe are going to get together in Moscow in 2010 for a final elaboration of action plans against pandemic, representative of the WHO Regional Office for Europe Mark Danson and his deputy Nata Menande said in Saint Petersburg.

The WHO officials emphasized that pharmindustry plays an important role in the world economy, therefore scientific problems frequently come along with economic issues. «The World Health Organization does not participate in solution of all the economic issues, nor does it conduct commercial activity. Our goal is to make pharmaceuticals more approachable for the people of the entire world», Mark Danson said.

Директор ГУ НИИ гриппа РАМН, академик РАМН Олег Киселев сообщил, что уже существует список рекомендуемых российских препаратов, показавших свою эффективность в борьбе с гриппом A/H1N1. «Цены на наши препараты на порядок отличаются от широко разрекламированных импортных, при этом их эффективность ничуть не хуже», - подчеркнул О.Киселев.

Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Oleg Kisselev informed, that the first vaccines against A/H1N1 flu will become available by October 1, 2009. August 20 the vaccine will be tested on volunteers.
