Eurasian Economic Union at a great risk, Nazarbayev

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "The global crisis exposes to risk the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU)," Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev said in his interview with the country's leading mass media.

"We have signed the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty. It was my idea voiced 20 years ago at the Moscow State University. To be honest, the Eurasian Economic Union is at a great risk for the global crisis," the President noted. Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that despite the risks the EEU will benefit its member countries. The sales between the Customs Union members grew by 40%. And now it will shrink for sure as well as the whole world. One of the positive sides is commodity circulation and establishment of joint ventures. The borders are open to afford free movement of people and no trains and cargo inspections. "The space has expanded embracing three countries. Economy will be set aright and will work in the best interests of all us," the Kazakh President said.
