Eurasian Economic Commission suggested supervising talks with WTO
"The Eurasian Economic Commission should supervise the matter very tightly but it seems to us that no due attention is paid to these negotiations for now," noted Mikhail Myasnikovich referring to Kazakhstan's talks with the WTO. The matter of Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO is very important for Belarus. "We know very little about results of these negotiations," he stated.
Mikhail Myasnikovich remarked that he had reached an agreement with his Kazakhstani counterpart that will allow Belarus to play a more active part in Kazakhstan's talks with the WTO. Belarus also counts on Russia's active stance on it, too, although Russia is less interested in it because it is already a WTO member, BelTA reports.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, Kazakhstan intends to reduce tariff protection for many commodities, including pork, fish, medications, tractors, and automobiles. These are very sensitive positions for Belarus, stressed the Prime Minister.
