Eurasian Economic Commission adopts statistical works program for 2014

MOSCOW. December 3. KAZINFORM The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission adopted a statistical works program for 2014 during its session in Moscow on 2 December, BelTA has learnt from the press service of the commission.

The document lists the statistical works in the economy, financing, foreign and mutual trade that will be carried out within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Commission in 2014. "In compliance with the principles of transparency and openness of the commission's work, all the statistical information mentioned in the program will be placed on the official website of the Eurasian Economic Commission," the press service said.

In the filed of customs cooperation the session worked out a decision-making procedure for classifying particular types of goods within the Eurasian Economic Commission. It was also decided to create an advisory committee on cooperation between border regulatory bodies of the Customs Union, BelTA reports.

The new committee will hold consultations with the heads of the member states of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Commission and work out suggestions for the Eurasian Economic Commission such as to the ways to increase the throughput capacity and reduce movement time for goods and vehicles at border crossing points, to increase the technological level of crossing points that carry out state control, to implement information technologies into inspection operations, etc. The committee will include representatives of relevant government agencies in charge of the movement of goods through border crossing points from each country and independent experts.
