EU presents seminars on Kazakhstan's WTO accession and possible barriers to trade
The seminars will cover transparency provisions in the WTO TBT and SPS Agreements and their implementation in Kazakhstan, system of food safety and EU rapid alert system for food and feed, veterinary border control in the EU and approval procedure for import of food in the EU, the press service of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan reports.
The seminars will improve the participants' knowledge and understanding of the multilateral rules in the above areas as well as of the measures that can be taken by WTO Members to ensure an appropriate level of protection of public and animal health.
The seminars will be presented in Petropavlovsk and in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The three speakers include EU experts in the sanitary and veterinary fields and a WTO expert from DITP's Astana office. This activity is intended for officials from line ministries, local and regional Akimats and Atameken Union, as well as producing/exporting companies and academia.
The seminar in Petropavlovsk will take place on 12-13 March.
In turn, the seminar in Ust-Kamenogorsk will take place on 15-16 March, at the Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University. Additional information about these events can be found at the Project's website: http://www.ditp.kz/
