EU leaders to gather in Brussels Feb 11

BRUSSELS. February 10. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ On February 11 presidents and prime ministers of the EU member countries will meet in Brussels to discuss the directions of economic policy for the nearest years.
On the eve President of the EU Herman Van Rompuy sent invitations to the heads of 27 member countries in which the agenda of the meeting and goals of the official forum were outlined.
The participants will also focus on struggle against climate change based on the outcome of last December's Copenhagen Conference.
Besides, the EU leaders will discuss some international problems including the situation in Haiti which requires immediate rescue operations as well as long-term measures on its rehabilitation. In this context Mr. Van Rompuy noted the EU had to take coordinated approach to the forthcoming international conference on Haiti.
