EU keen to strengthen ties with Kazakhstan - European MP Jeggle

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Today Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan Erlan Idrissov has met with the delegates of the European Parliament who are on official visit in Kazakhstan.
At the meeting, member of the European Parliament Elisabeth Jeggle stressed that Kazakhstan is an important partner of the European Union in Central Asia. "The EU, in turn, is Kazakhstan's key trade and investment partner and we would like to deepen and strengthen ties with Kazakhstan based on the new partnership and cooperation agreement," she said. Ms Jeggle reminded that President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso agreed in July 2013 to negotiate the new agreement that is to replace the one signed in 1999.
