TANA. October 4. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ Two-thirds of all direct investments of counties of the European Union in Kazakhstan's economy are directed in the mining and energy sectors. EU Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger has made it public at the VI Eurasian Forum KAZENERGY.
"It is important to remind that the EU is the largest united investor in Kazakhstan which accounts for more than half of total foreign direct investments. Two-thirds of these investments are directed to the energy and mining sector," Günther Oettinger said.
He noted that the EU companies worked side by side with their Kazakh partners over development of Kazakhstan's resources, including the Caspian Sea. The EU representative considers that such relations allowed to share unique knowledge, experience and technological innovations.
