EU highly appreciates Kazakhstan's OIC chairmanship contribution to solving Iran's problems

"We follow the steps Kazakhstan makes and the meeting being held within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the Iran's problems. Within the context of the crisis around Iran and quite dangerous plans of Teheran (on nuclear weapon development) we have debated this issue at the recent meeting of Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Kazakh Foreign Affairs Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov in Brussels. We take into consideration the decisive steps of Kazakhstan to abandon nuclear weapons, social, economic and political achievements that have changed drastically the country's scenery for the past 20 years. That's why we highly appreciate Kazakhstan's contribution to solving the Iran's problems and regret that Iran, as the IAEA report shows, continues the development of its nuclear program with a military component," he said.
