EU highly appraises Kazakhstan's role in Transnistrian Conflict arrangement - EU Special Representative for Moldova Kálmán Mizsei

According to him, Kazakhstan as the OSCE Chairman is more focused on results in regulation of the Transnistrian Conflict. "Astana understands that it is impossible to solve the Transnistrian conflict within the shortest possible period of time. This process can be characterized as accumulative one. It is necessary to make way to the target step by step. It is a very good philosophy of your chairmanship", he said.
In his opinion, further positive changes in this sphere will depend on the parties' willingness in the conflict arrangement. "In May, 2010 Astana will hold talks in the format "5+2" (Moldova and Transnistria - parties to the conflict, Russia and Ukraine - guaranteeing powers, the OSCE - a mediator, the EU and the USA - observers). We carry out consultations with our colleagues in Moscow, Kiev and Washington, hence we have good labor relations, good atmosphere so your chairmanship could reach useful results", the EU Special Representative noted.
