EU FMs discuss Rus proposals on security system in Europe

BRUSSELS. June 19. KAZINFORM Foreign ministers of the EU member countries discussed Russia?s proposals on a new security system in Europe at a ministerial meeting, held here within the framework of the EU summit, Jan Kohout, foreign minister of the Czech Republic, which is holding a rotating presidency in EU, said at a press conference on the results of the first day of the summit; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

According to his information, the EU foreign ministers ?discussed preparations for a Russia-NATO ministerial meeting,? due to be held in the Corfu Island, Greece, on June 27, simultaneously with a meeting of foreign ministers of the OSCE member states. The meeting of the Russia-NATO Council in Corfu will be the first meeting on the level of ministers after the Caucasian conflict, which took place last August. ?We should bring our stands closer together before the meeting,? Kohout said.
