EU earmarks €24 million for Ebola research

BRUSSELS. KAZINFORM - The European Union has allocated €24.4 million "for urgently needed Ebola research," the European Commission said on Thursday.
"The funding will go to five projects, ranging from a large-scale clinical trial of a potential vaccine, to testing existing and novel compounds to treat Ebola," the European Commission said. According to the World Health Organization, the dealy Ebola virus has already killed 4,900 people, mainly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Source: ITAR-TASS
