English language now taught in 165 schools of Kazakhstan in second grade

"The children of second grades at 165 schools of Kazakhstan learn the English language in the experimental mode. Since September 2013, the stage by stage introduction of this subject into the curriculum of first grades will begin. In this regard, the State Educational Standard has been approved," the statement of the Ministry reads.

It was also noted that gradually a pilot project on the introduction of some subjects taught in the English language into the educational systems of some schools would be launched, Kazinform has learned from Pm.kz site.

In accordance with the information of the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan, more than 2 thousand teachers of the English language are involved in the organization of the introduction of the English language subject since the second grade.

Besides, the training courses for teachers has been organized since September 1 of the current year.
