Energy efficiency in Kazakhstan’s industry has big economic potential – A. Issekeshev
According to the Minister, the energy efficiency in the industrial sector means the economic result with least energy expenditure or getting better results while using the same quantity of energy. "There is a big potential of energy efficiency in metallurgy, agriculture and engineering", A. Issekeshev emphasized.
Besides, the Minister also noted that over the last years the Kazakh President and Government have paid special attention to the issues of energy efficiency.
The roundtable is held within the framework of the Government's activities on modernization and development of housing and public utilities. The conception for the development of housing and utilities infrastructure and the complex plan for 2010-2014 have already been developed and approved. KZT 300 bln is expected to be allocated for their implementation.
The main objective is to make this sector attractive for investors. This will promote introduction of new technology and significant upgrading of rendered services.
The first pilot projects are already being implemented in Mangystau region - regarding water supply; significant investments of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development are involved as well.
The issues regarding the development and implementation of energy saving projects as well as introduction of new technology to the budget sphere are the beginning of the large-scale work in the industry of Kazakhstan.
