Energy drinks banned from Kazakhstan's schools and universities

"We've passed a resolution to limit the sale of energy and soft drinks in schools. We prohibit the sale of soft drinks in secondary and high schools, and also pay serious attention to energy drinks, especially low-alcohol. We have prohibited to sell low-alcohol energy drinks during cultural events," he said.

At the same time, he said it was planned to limit the number of tonic components. Thus, according to him, energy drinks without alcohol should contain no more than two components, low-alcohol drinks - no more than one component, as the concentration of caffeine should not exceed 400 mg.

Also, it is planned to ban the sale of products containing synthetic caffeine.

According to the chief sanitary doctor, epidemiological control labs have mastered the technique of detecting synthetic components. The precedents have already been registered.
