Electric energy production exceeded 58 bln kWh in 8 months of 2012

The production of electric energy exceeded 58 billion kilowatt per hour in Kazakhstan in 8 months of 2012, Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev made it public today.

"The electric energy production made 58 billion kilowatt per hour over 8 months of this year. This is 5% more than in the last year," Asset Issekeshev said at today's session of the Government.

According to Pm.kz site, repair works have already been completed at 6 energy units, 25 boilers and 12 turbines within the framework of preparation for the upcoming heating season. 

Besides, as of the beginning of September, 4.6 million tons of coal was accumulated in the fuel depots of the energy enterprises. This is 36% more compared to the corresponding period of 2011. Besides, 99 thousand tons of furnace oil which is 2% more than in the corresponding period of the last year.   

According to the Minister, the peak demand is expected at the level of 14100 megawatt that is 5% more than the peak load of the last winter.
