EIB won mandate for investing of over 2.5 bln euros in significant Kazakh projects

BRUSSELS. February 10. KAZINFORM Philippe Maystadt, former President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) highly appreciates efficiency of the Kazakh Government on timely implementation of effective anti-crisis measures.

He gave such estimation during a meeting with Kazakh Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, Head of Kazakhstan's Mission to the EU and NATO Yerik Utembayev.

At the meeting the sides exchanged opinions on the investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU, discussed the agenda of the Astana Economic Forum as well as touched upon a range of issues related to effective anti-crisis measures taken by governments of countries of Europe and the whole world.

The Kazakh Ambassador noted that the issues of interaction in confronting global financial and economic challenges are being discussed with the heads of the European Financial Stability Facility.

The EIB ex-President, in his turn, highly appraised the current level of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Investment Bank.

In this connection Y.Utembayev outlined great contribution of Philippe Maystadt in establishment of successful ties between the EIB and Kazakhstan.

Besides, the Kazakh diplomat noted that the EIB won a mandate from the EU for an investment package amounting more than EURO 2.5 billion for investing in the Kazakh projects significant for the EU in the sphere of innovations, alternative energy and etc.
