EgyptSat-2 to be launched today atop Soyuz-U Booster

BAIKONUR. KAZINFORM - EgyptSat-2 satellite is to be launched from Baikonur cosmodrome atop the Russian booster "Soyuz-U".
The launch is scheduled for 10:20 pm Astana time from the spaceport site number 3. EgyptSat-2 is a hexagonal satellite, equipped with three deployable, fixed solar arrays, together with nickel-hydrogen batteries, and is expected to remain operational for approximately 11 years. Its optical imaging payload will cover the visible and infrared spectral bands, providing a ground resolution of 4 meters for multispectral imagery and 1 meter for panchromatic imagery.
