Egyptian billionaire, hit man sentenced to death for murder

CAIRO. June 25. KAZINFORM. An Egyptian billionaire and a hit man hired to slay a Lebanese singer were sentenced to death by a local court Thursday after getting go-ahead from the grand mufti, Nile TV reported; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

    Moustafa, the head of Talaat Moustafa group and a Shura Councilmember, ordered former policeman Muhsen el-Sukkari in July to murder Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim in Dubai for 2 million U.S. dollars. Both of them will be hanged, according to a statement read by Judge al-Mohammedi Qunsua.

    Moustafa, founder of the Talaat Moustafa group, is a billionaire and a very prominent member in the Egyptian ruling National Democratic Party while Muhsen el-Sukkari, the hit man, is a former Egyptian policeman.
