Egypt to investigate wealth of Mubarak
The investigations came after complaints filed against the former president based on what they called the "unjustified swelling of Mubarak and his family's wealth," reported Egypt's MENA news agency.
The committee will issue necessary precautionary measures to bar Mubarak and his family from accessing their bank accounts and assets.
Egypt has frozen the funds and bank accounts of several former top officials and their families on Monday as part of the country' s anti-corruption campaign since the fall of former President Hosni Mubarak.
A number of top officials, including former ministers of interior, tourism and housing have been investigated, detained or faced trials over corruption allegations.
Egypt's caretaker Prime Minister Essam Sharaf has vowed to fight corruption to meet the demands of protestors.
