"The Ministry of Education and Science should prepare and submit to the Interdepartmental Working Group a plan of composition and implementation into education process of the two basic textbooks on the history of Kazakhstan - the nation's history from ancient times to the present, as well as the recent history of independent Kazakhstan," Tazhin said.

He noted that these books should exclude "excessive politicization and needless empirical evidence."

"We need to coordinate efforts on the creation of a complex of new textbooks that would meet the training and educational requirements, and the worldview of today. New generation of textbooks, of course, have to move away from the old principles of historiography," the Secretary of State emphasized.

As he noted, it is necessary to "focus educational process on two such canonical books, and on this basis form the full range of historical and methodological literature."

Also, the textbooks should be backed up with reading books, comments, explanations, and visual elements - infographics, drawings, maps and diagrams, audio courses, television and Internet versions, as well as electronic versions of mobile applications.

In addition, the basic textbooks should be the basis for the development of a number of books and manuals of the second level for different age categories, illustrated for children, simplified for school students and processed for students and so on.
