Economic Consultants Council made recommendations on adjustment of short-term and long-term economic policy

As the PM's press service informs, the sitting participants heard a report on Analysis and assessment of state anti-crisis measures - consequences for economic policy prepared by the Public Policy Research Center. The reports provides for major factors and degree of influence of the global crisis on Kazakhstan economy and assessment of efficiency of the Government's anti-crisis measures on maintaining the country's economy.
Director of the Center Meruert Makhmutova said that "stability and duration of recovery of the global economic growth is uncertain and there is still threat of recurrence of crisis" In this view the experts made recommendations on adjustment of short-term and middle-term economic policy.
Professor, Doctor of Economic Science Arystan Yessentugelov, First Vice Chairman of the Atameken Union National Economic Chamber Yekaterina Nikitinskaya, Rector of Turan University Rakhman Alshanov, Chairman of Troika Dialogue Kazakhstan Askar Yelemessov, Editor-in-Chief of National Business journal Arman Idrissov and heads of central executive bodies - Minister of Labor and Social Protection Gulshara Abdykalikova, Minister of Finances Bolat Zhamishev, Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Dina Shazhenova, Chairman of the Agency for Construction and Housing-Utilities Serik Nokin participated in discussion of the report.
The Council of Economic Consultants was established on instruction of Prime Minister Karim Massimov in November 2008 for giving consultations for the leading Kazakhstani experts on urgent socio-economic issues.
The Council consists of leading Kazakhstani experts and representatives os scientific-research centers specializing in economic problems.
