Ecological safety of space development activity - seminar of ecologists and experts of Kazkosmos

ALMATY. May 27. KAZINFORM /Sara Kabikyzy/ Environmental safety of Kazakhstan as one of the priorities of the country's state policy underlay the theme of the seminar organized by Infracos-Ecos subsidiary-state organization.

The seminar was held within clarification of the President's Address to the Nation.

Vice Chairman of the National Space Agency Erkin Shaimagambetov addressed the participants of the seminar with a welcoming speech. The meeting was attended by the representatives of Kazkosmos, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, scientific-research institutions of the ministries of education and science, healthcare and organizations implementing ecological programs in space development activity.

The participants noted importance of the problems solved by Infracos-Ecos jointly with scientific-research organizations, the issues assessment of influence of space-development activity on environment and health of population. Every launch of carrier-rockets from Baikonur space site causes ecological problem, they said.

12 reports were heard in total within the seminar following which the participants made several recommendations on improvement of ecological safety of space development activity in Kazakhstan.
