EBRD invested in Kazakhstan over USD 5 bln - Nazarbayev

ASTANA. May 20. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has totally invested more than USD 5 bln in Kazakhstan. President Nursultan Nazarbayev has informed of it at a plenary session of the EBRD Annual Meeting in Astana.

"In the past years the Bank has channelled over USD 5 bln into our economy that allowed to implement more than 140 projects," the President said at the Palace of Independence.

The Head of State noted that year by year cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EBRD grows. Last year the Bank's investments in Kazakhstan reached USD 1 bln, financing 21 projects.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an international financial institution founded in 1991 for support of market economy in Central Europe and Central Asia.
