East Kazakhstan region held regional round of Abay readings

The traditional annual republican contest "Abay readings" is held to promote works by Abay and Shakarim among schoolchildren as well as to identify and develop gifted children, form their aesthetic, artistic, moral and cultural identity.

The regional Abay readings were performed in three categories: recitation of Abay and Shakarim works; performance of songs by Abay and Shakarim; performance of students' works (poems, songs).

Performances of students were assessed by a competent jury, which included the representatives of Daryn Educational Center, teachers of the universities.

The winners of the regional round will defend the honor of the region at the republican round of the competition, which will be held on September 9-12 at the museum complex Abay - Shakarim in Abay district.
